SAN CARLOS HOUSE
This 1989 Craftsman style, four-bedroom house was in need of renovation due to unanticipated water damage. We repaired the ceiling and wall areas, installed drywall and matched existing textures. We also removed old baseboards and floors, and replaced them with 3,100 square feet of elegant eco-friendly bamboo flooring throughout the three-story home.
The entrance, staircases and hallways received a new look: the custom banister, handrail and spindles were made of local alder wood. The spindles were hand-painted and the handrails were stained with an oil finish. The entry and hallways were painted in a custom turquoise haze and were treated to new bamboo floors.
The dining room’s ceiling and walls were heavily damaged by water. We installed new drywall and texture to match the existing wall. We also gave the room new baseboards, ceiling lights, and a bamboo floor, and painted the room with a custom blend of spring green and blue hues.
The third floor bathroom needed a complete overhaul. We gutted the bathroom, installed a new sub-floor, sheet rock, a new granite vanity top, cabinet, bathtub, plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, tile floors, and wainscoting.
Other rooms also received repair work. The living room, the TV room, the office, the kitchen, and the bedrooms all needed new dry wall, fresh coats of paint, and new bamboo floors.
For the exterior, we repaired the leaky roof. We also gutted, re-sloped and installed new slate tiles on the entire third-floor deck as well as new wall siding. We reframed the two sliding doors and gave the exterior deck area new coats of paint.
