SAN FRANCISCO KITCHEN REMODEL
In this San Francisco Edwardian house, we gutted the 1960s kitchen and worked with the owners to create a contemporary and eco-friendly space. We replaced the linoleum floor with marmoleum. We also installed new plumbing, electrical system, and lighting, as well as new bead board around the kitchenís upper and lower walls.
We opened up the old kitchen to accommodate more space and expanded the window area to allow more natural light. We built open shelves for easy access and created an alcove so the new fridge could recess snugly. The kitchen cabinets and drawers were custom Ikea. A brand new sink was installed along with Corion countertops. For the final touch, the ceiling, walls and trims all received fresh coats of Benjamin Moore paint.
As the owners described this renovation, "Itís about nostalgic details meeting a contemporary edge in a seamless blend that savors the best of old and new."
